On 1st June 2007; EC Regulation No 1907/2006, of 18th December, of the European Parliament and the Council on the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals, (REACh) became legally binding. Its main objective is to guarantee a high level of protection of human health and the environment, to facilitate the free circulation of substances on the interior market, to seek the prevent contamination of water, air and soil to prevent damage to biodiversity and to improve control over substances of very high concern.

SARCHEM is one of the global producer and supplier of leather finishing chemicals and has the aim to fulfill the most stringent responsible care policy. SARCHEM thinks it is necessary for its leather finishing product range to be composed of environmental friendly and human health care products.

SARCHEM confirms, that all SARCHEM products fully comply with all requirements regarding as outlined in the REACh directive.

The main components of SARCHEM products are polymers, which will be not registered according to the REACh regulations. Regarding substances used, SARCHEM is in close contact with it’s suppliers. All substances used for the production of leather finishing chemicals, are currently being imported from Europe. SARCHEM checks always with it’s suppliers, that preregistrations and registrations have been done according to the REACh directive for their substances. So that SARCHEM can continue with the production and marketing according to the regulations.
